§ 02 — OVERVIEW
Picturesque Navajo Lake was originally know to the piute Indians as Pa-cu-ay, meaining "Clound Lake." The lake came into being when a lava flow dammed the eastern end of the valley. Boating, swiming and fishing are popular activities at Navajo Lake.
There are approximately 120 improved campsites near the lake. Boats, lodging, gasoline and limited supplies are available at private resorts on the south shore.
