§ 02 — OVERVIEW
Nestled in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest on the Entiat Ranger District, Lake Creek Campground offers visitors some of the most stunning scenery in the central Washington area with easy access to an abundance of recreational activities such as hiking, motorcycle riding, and mountain biking.
This campground offers 18 sites that accommodate both tent and RV camping. Hookups are not available and the maximum trailer length is 28 feet. Nine sites are reservable only through recreation.gov with the other nine being first come, first served. There are two vault toilets, one dumpster, and two hand pumps with potable water at the campground.
Hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and motorcycle riding top the list of recreational activities in the area. Just up the road, Lake Creek Trailhead offers recreationalists the ability to access three different trails that are open to most activities. The Silver Falls National Recreation Trail is less than three miles up river and provides a great family hike to a spectacular waterfall. Backpackers and horseback riders can enjoy the trails of the Glacier Peak Wilderness from the Entiat River Trailhead located at the end of Entiat River Road.

Many of the sites overlook the Entiat River as it cascades down the valley to meet the Columbia. The open forest provides plenty of sunshine and a diverse habitat that supports deer, bears, coyotes, bald eagles, and numerous other animals. The Entiat River is fertile ground for salmon and steelhead which still use this waterway for spawning grounds.

There are multiple trailheads just up the road. The first one you encounter is the Lake Creek Trailhead which is a favorite among mountain bikers and motorcycle riders. Silver Falls National Scenic Trail is the next trailhead you come to and provides a family friendly one and a half mile loop hike to a spectacular waterfall. If you are heading back down river the Entiat National Fish Hatchery is at mile six on Entiat River Road and welcomes visitors in the summer. If your looking for some fun in town the tourist destinations of Chelan and Leavenworth are a relatively short drive away.
