§ 02 — OVERVIEW
One of the best places to view wildlife in Big Bear is at the Stanfield Cut-off, the causeway that crosses the eastern portion of Big Bear Lake. In winter, watch for bald eagles.
Call the Big Bear Discovery Center for bald eagle count, 909-382-2790. All year watch for white pelicans, coots, great blue herons, and mergansers. Fishing information: Rainbow trout is planted 3 times per month spring through fall. A fishing license is required for 16 years and over.
