1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa, built in 1886 and a member of Historic Hotels of America® since 2000 was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. Historic Hotels of America is the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation® for recognizing and celebrating the finest historic hotels across America. 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa is a mountaintop spa resort hand-constructed of Arkansas limestone by Irish stonemasons at a cost of $284,000. When this "Grand Ol' Lady of the Ozarks" opened, the railroad had reached the village, bringing tourists eager to sample the healing waters of the local springs.
Located atop the historic district and surrounded by acres of gardens, forested walking trails, restored Victorian shops, restaurants, and galleries, the hotel retains its historic character but still offers all the amenities that today's traveler expects.
