Overview
The Northeast Fishery Center (Center) plays a leading role in guiding the science and technology that is foundational to species and habitat conservation in the United States. The Center conducts research on fish culture techniques and managing the genetics of fish populations. The Lamar Fish Health Center (FHC) provides critical diagnostic and fish disease screening services to State, Tribal and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service fish hatcheries. We also develop disease prevention and containment guidelines for use throughout the Northeast Region. Additionally, we monitor the health of wild fish populations. We are open to visitors and can provide exciting opportunities for education and recreation. Call Steve Davis to schedule a tour and learn about one of our fishing events. (570) 726-4247 x 115.
