The BLM-managed Hawkeye Trailhead is a scenic, low-traffic staging area located near Mack, Colorado, offering an ideal gateway to the western edge of the world-famous Kokopelli Loops and the McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area. This primitive site features unpaved parking without water or restroom facilities, serving as a peaceful alternative to busier regional trailheads for intermediate mountain bikers, hikers, and trail runners. From the lot, visitors gain immediate access to the winding, 2.8-mile Hawkeye singletrack, which climbs through desert terrain to connect directly with upper Mack Ridge and a vast network of iconic backcountry trails. This site does not have any amenities. It is a primitive parking lot with no public restrooms, drinking water, or trash collection bins, so visitors must pack out all waste.
